This basement is located in Aspen Woods Estates in SW Calgary. The basement comprises of a main living area, a bathroom, one bedroom, a gym, and a children’s play area under the stairs. Features include LED potlights throughout, vanity lights and dome lighting selected from our dedicated sales rep at Cartwright, an open stairwell, custom barn doors, and a custom shower with a floating vanity. Cold air returns were brought down to the floor level and the lower level’s paint was matched with the existing paintwork in the rest of the home. Just off the basement’s main living area there is also a crafts room that’s fitted with custom cabinets, a bamboo counter top, and shelving. The basement has 5mm luxury vinyl plank throughout, with the exception of carpet in the one bedroom. The entire basement was fitted with a Dricore subfloor, which helps to maintain a cozy atmosphere.

The lower part of the staircase wall was removed and replaced with a railing to open up the stairwell and expand the basement area. The custom railing on the stairs fully matches the one on the home’s main level which really ties the upper and lower levels together seamlessly

Kids play area
The area under the stairs is completely finished and perfect for the children's play area. A small bookshelf opens into a fully developed play area on the other side. We equipped the space with motion sensors and low-heat Lotus potlights for safety. The small barn door covering the entrance is fully customized to match the larger barn doors of the gym.
