The basement in this single-family home in Crestmont in SW Calgary consists of a main living area, a bathroom, and a bedroom. Features include a wet bar, fireplace, and entertainment centre. LED potlights are installed throughout the basement, in addition to vanity lights and dome lighting selected from Cartwright Lighting Centre. The basement’s cold air returns were moved to the floor level and the ceiling’s heating system was replaced with circular diffusers. The basement has 5mm luxury vinyl plank flooring. Part of the wall was removed to accommodate the stairs leading into the basement and sprayed MDF capping was added. The basement’s paint, doors, and trim all match those used elsewhere in the home.

We added custom coloured wainscotting to the front of the bar, a Riobel faucet, and a mason stone backsplash to make it pop. The TV is mounted onto the wall, with HDMI and internet connections running behind it to an off-site electronic rack embedded in the wall. The full amp rack has an exhaust fan that vents into the basement’s mechanical room.
