The basement of this single-family home in Evanston in NW Calgary consists of a main living area, bathroom, and bedroom. There are LED potlights throughout the basement, while dome lighting and vanity lights were selected from Cartwright Lighting Centre. Cold air returns were moved down to the basement’s floor level and the paint in the basement was matched with that used in the other areas of the home. Customer selected tile is installed in the bathroom, with luxury vinyl plank flooring elsewhere in the basement.

The basement has an eye popping dark stained custom wet bar with an undermount sink, Canadian Riobel faucet, granite top matching that in the bathroom and a full backsplash between the lower and upper cabinets to finish off the design. The solid wood stained cabinets have soft-close doors and drawers and lighting beneath the upper cabinets all chosen at our cabinet makers extensive selection showroom.

Matching French doors with magnetic latches were installed to create separation from the main living area while maintaining an open feeling. This area of the basement is also used as a children’s play area although it is classed as a legal bedroom.
