When you start with good bones like these, bringing a basement from average to inspiring can be done with minimal upgrades. The theme for this project was light, crisp and modern. The recurring square and rectangular shapes create a contemporary feel, while the wood-look floors keep the room from being visually cold.
Walking down to the walk-out basement is easy on the feet with 38-ounce carpet on the stairs, accompanied by an upgraded Aspen Railing. Additional heat runs warm up the space, while potlights have been added overhead.
The white wall colours create an enlarged sense of space, lending the exercise area facing the window a feeling of a dedicated room.

On the floors, 5 mm luxury vinyl planking gives the living room a luxurious feel. We added our projector package that includes Optical HDMI X 2. We also included 7.1 Surround Sound, an eight-channel audio system which adds two more speakers to the more conventional six-channel audio configuration, upping the anti for the viewer’s listening experience. The theatre amp and controls are tucked away in the mechanical room.
The 5 mm luxury vinyl planking continues into the full three-piece bathroom for a continuous, consistent design effect. Oversize square tiles bring more style to the bathing zone, repeated again as a single-line backsplash around the sink. Meanwhile, the sleek soaker tub offers a soothing respite to sore muscles and cold winter days. The room is made complete by modern Delta fixtures, a solid wood vanity with a quartz countertop and a comfort height toilet.
Investing in a basement renovation can be a big decision and understanding all the facts is crucial to the success of your project. If you have any questions about the financing process give us a call and we’d be happy to help.
