The modern mood begins with luxury vinyl plank to create a fresh, open atmosphere, making the well-proportioned space seem even larger. Overhead, 4” LED potlights to keep the downstairs bright and welcoming, with an oh-so-light grey paint colour on the walls to complement the effect. We painted the wall behind the TV screen a dark colour to create a subtle feature wall. The darker colour also enables the wall to blend into the background whenever the screen is on. Because nothing should distract from a good movie!
It was important to our clients that their basement have a high-end feel while actually being low maintenance. Limiting the carpet to just one room helps cut down on the vacuuming chores. In total, this basement update includes four separate zones: a bedroom, a bathroom, a media area, and a flexible nook that would be the perfect home for a full spectrum of uses, from a home office to a games table.

The media zone takes movie night to the max, with a mega 120” screen, matched with 7.1 Surround Sound for the ultimate in audio. To keep the sophisticated entertainment system user friendly, we installed our projector package, which includes everything needed to use a projector. We used optical HDMI for the projector, terminated at the amp, and we ran Cat6 cable, backing and power to complete the viewing experience.
