The entrance to the basement begins as the carpeted stairway turns the corner, to an opening made to feel even more open by the pony wall next to the last three steps in the stairway from the main floor. We added wood accents throughout the space, including the reclaimed wood mantle above the contemporary 30” square fireplace.
Making efficient use of the space by the stairs, the five-foot wet bar brings a touch of luxury with its dual-zoned wine fridge and shelf that matches the cabinets. Little extras, like the hardware on the cabinets, give a subtle nod to an old-fashioned farmhouse, while surrounded by modern convenience. The tiled backsplash draws the eye upward toward the beguiling shelf of elixirs above.
In the office, much needed for the days when working from home is required, the luxury vinyl plank continues the modern farmhouse feel.
